The DRHA Summer Spectacular was a great ” tune-up ” for the NRHA Derby in OKC !!! Lots of schooling, air-conditioning, AND some great runs from some of our riders ! Jeremy Dasessler was a star in the Green class, in his VERY 1st reining pattern and after 4 rides on his new gelding Spooks R Out Tonite, Jeremy placed 2nd with a 68.5. Next up was the Rookie class where Marybeth Ruckman and her classy mare Mia Little Whiz slid into a 4-way tie for 1st with a score of 70 ! After an exciting run-off the pair came in 3rd ! Barbara Townsend and Major Vaquero were RIGHT behind that group with a solid 68.5 ! Mark Blake and Plum Gotta Gun did what they normally do… KEEP CASHIN CHECKS !! Winning the Masters NP circuit and taking a piece of the action out of ALL the Non Pro Divisions. In the Open, Kyle Frazier stepped up and did some damage by winning the Rookie Pro on Major Vaquero for owner Barb Townsend AND winning the Nov Open 2 on Criminal Intentions for Janice Dickson. And last but not least, Matt won the Open on his wife Karen’s horse Miss N My Chic… he would be firing on all cylinders for the Non Pro Derby in OKC. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!!
